In 2018, we had a big family trip to Walt Disney World. There were a couple of people in our party who needed to use electric scooters. We rented one from an outside provider and a couple of times we rented one at the parks. They were both in fine shape, although we have to admit the one that we rented at Magic Kingdom was in considerably better shape than the one from the outside provider. Nonetheless, should you need one, here are our recommendations on the best options.
Renting a Mobility Device
Walt Disney World (WDW) does offer electric scooter rentals (ECV). Currently, the cost to rent one in the parks is $50 a day with a refundable $20 deposit. Here area a few need to know tidbits from the Walt Disney World website:
Know Before You Go
We checked Scooter Bug to see what they had to offer. They have free delivery and pickup from all Disney Resorts. Additionally, they have several ECV options, resort, resort lite, and resort plus. We tested the pricing from December 23 through December 30 or 8 days. The resort lite with insurance was $201.00, the resort with insurance was $227.00, the plus was Plus was $256.00. The breakdown per day is: $25, $28, and $32. Much better pricing than the one day/one park price with Walt Disney World.
Also, some of the benefits of off-site rental include:
– Outside ECV rentals drop off and pick up to Bell Services. No need for your to be present. You can arrange drop off so the ECV is available when you arrive.
– Batteries last between 4-6 hours, depending on the style.
